This position is perfect for an individual that enjoys variety, thrives on finding new ways to keep social media engagement high, is confident when collecting content, directing graphics, and has strong written communications skills.   • Social Media Management
    • Scheduling, Content Creation, Account Monitoring
    • Proactive and Reactive Content
    • Social Media Graphics (via Canva and/or utilizing external graphic designer)
    • Community Engagement
    • Creation of IG Reels
    • Leading Social Media Innovation, Tools, and Execution for CIPR and CIPR Clients
  • Content Creation
    • Blogs and Website

    This job will grow alongside CIPR Communications. We are looking for an individual ready to grow with the team that sees a long-term future with our organization.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Monitoring and Management for Clients
    • Creating content
    • Scheduling content
    • Monitoring accounts
    • Engaging on social media
    • Optimizing social media accounts
  • Content collection for social media and other marketing needs
  • Dealing with access to social media accounts
  • Community management online on behalf of clients
  • Develop and execute social media strategies and content calendars
  • Graphic design via Canva
  • Coordinating social media and graphic design between clients, CIPR team members, and CIPR’s trusted partners to execute projects
  • Writing blogs specifically catered towards content marketing and search engine optimization programs
  • Management of social media and graphic design suppliers, and tools
  • Assisting the Communications and Content Director and Marketing Director as required
  • Other communications and marketing duties as required


  • Exceptional social media abilities – that have been proven in the past (all platforms – including those that are up and coming)
  • Understanding social media analytics
  • Proven design skillset (Canva)
  • Basic understanding of communications and marketing trends and techniques
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of professionalism
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Multi-task in a highly organized fashion
  • Perceptive and anticipatory – ability to identify gaps and fill them in accordingly (rolling up your sleeves)

Educational Background and Experience

  • Marketing or Communications post-secondary degree; or degree specific to social media, graphic design, or digital marketing
  • Previous experience in social media management (2 years)
    • Advanced experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest)
  • Previous blog writing experience (2 years)
  • Previous agency or corporate experience is required (this shouldn’t be your first job)
  • Experience with cloud-based project management tools (the position will utilize Asana, Basecamp, and other tools daily)
  • Advanced skillset in Canva
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in problem solving, research, and investigation/troubleshooting

Bonus Skillset:

  • A candidate with graphic design skills outside of Canva will be considered an asset
  • A candidate with experience with Facebook Ad Manager and could run ads for clients will be considered an asset
  • A candidate with podcast and video editing experience is considered an asset
  • A candidate with photography skills is considered an asset

  • Start July 2022
  • Full time
  • Virtual job with in-person and video conference meetings. Monthly in-person meetings with the team
  • Travel to client places of business may be required for content collection; mileage and expenses covered if outside Calgary
  • On-boarding and training provided
